Domaine Saint-Sébaste – Contacts & Location
Description
Domaine Saint-Sébaste, Demeter-certified, Saint-Blaise
The Domaine Saint-Sébaste
In a world where everything is in flux, where values change or disappear, Domaine Saint-Sébaste wants to remain the guarantor of authenticity.
Without respite, it pursues its quest for the best whether it's in terms of ecology or the care taken in maturing its wines. " Our pleasure is to age pure varietal wines, without any blending. Wines that, through their fruitiness, elegance and minerality, reveal to us the expression of our vineyard's terroir. "
The estate's 24 parcels stretch over 20 ha across the Neuchâtel communes of Cortaillod to Le Landeron, via Colombier, Hauterive, Saint-Blaise and Cressier. Its main grape variety is Pinot Noir, followed by Chasselas and the specialities, made up of Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Gewürztraminer.

A family
YEARS ARE GOING BY, IT'S TIME TO RESTORE...
After having vinified 45 vintages, accompanied for many years by my wife Anja, who has helped me at the Domaine while bringing her feminine sensibility, it's time for us to hand over the helm to the new generation. We've been sharing our know-how with my daughter Elodie and our son-in-law Ludovic for 6 years now. During these years of collaboration, we have acquired the certainty that they will be able to satisfy you at the highest level, while living out their passions for vines and wine. It's with a touch of emotion and nostalgia that we'd like to thank you for these many years of loyalty. But as the Domaine remains a family affair, we'll certainly have the pleasure of sharing a glass of friendship at our various events.
Anja and Jean-Pierre Kuntzer
WITH CONTINUITY, PASSION AND DYNAMISM
Since 2016, Jean-Pierre and Anja have passed on all their knowledge to us so that they can be as well prepared as possible to take over the Domaine. From the vineyard to the cellar, via administration, every moment of sharing has taught us the subtleties that have enabled this Estate to offer quality wines and service. Respect for nature is a strong value that we have shared from the outset. The family spirit and the sharing of our passion for this profession are an integral part of our vision. We look forward to contributing our skills and youth to ensure that this family estate continues to inspire you. The customer will always be at the center of our attention, and we wish to continue to offer you high quality wines that reflect the terroir of our beautiful region, whether biodynamic or natural. We would like to thank you in advance for the trust you will place in us over the coming years, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to write the next chapter in the Domaine's history. We look forward to seeing you again.

Viticulture en Biodynamie
The Kuntzer family has always paid particular attention to respecting the estate's land.
In 2012, Domaine Saint-Sébaste began its conversion to organic farming. In 2015, the Domaine obtained Demeter certification, guaranteeing compliance with the strictest specifications currently in force. Biodynamic viticulture excludes the use of synthetic products; no fertilizers, weed-killers or pesticides are used in the vineyard. All work on the soil to reduce weeds is carried out mechanically or manually, requiring more passes, time and effort to obtain the expected results. In the cellar, natural yeasts and autochthonous bacteria elevate the wine, for greater complexity, with lower sulfite content as a result.

A region, a vineyard, the wines of Domaine Saint-Sébaste
For over a thousand years, the vineyards of Neuchâtel have stretched out at the foot of the Jura, between lake and mountains, on a strip of land rich in limestone and mineral salts.
All the wines offered by Domaine Saint-Sébaste not only respect the "Neuchâtel AOC" appellation, but are also biodynamically grown. The diversity of the soils, the exposure of the slopes and a climate tempered by the lake all contribute to the production of wines combining freshness, character, finesse and complexity. It is by mastering all these elements that Domaine Saint-Sébaste is able to craft exceptional wines.
About Saint-Sébaste
The name Saint-Sébaste has its origins in that of Saint-Blaise. Born in Armenia, Blaise was a physician. Elected bishop of Sebaste, he performed numerous miracles. In 316, the governor of his province condemned him to recant his faith. Martyred by iron wool-carding combs, he refused to renounce his belief. He was executed on February 3.
In tribute to his beneficence, several villages have opted for the name Saint-Blaise. As our vineyards extend over several communes, in 1982 we decided to market our wines under the appellation d'origine contrôlée Neuchâtel. As an implicit reminder that our winery is located in Saint-Blaise, the name " Domaine Saint-Sébaste " was born from the historical note of Saint Blaise's life.
Saint-Sébaste is therefore not a new " Saint " and will certainly not work miracles. On the other hand, we hope you enjoy it every time you taste a bottle.
Saint-Sébaste is not a new " Saint " and certainly won't work miracles.
