The grapes are pressed and vinified at the company site - located right in the heart of the wine village of Salgesch. In the traditional cellar with wooden barrels, the fine Valais wine specialties can be tasted and purchased directly from the winery.

A family tradition
In 1950, Franz-Josef Mathier began pressing grapes. In 1974, the business was transformed into a family-owned company and in 1992, son André Mathier-Gsponer took over the management. True to the family tradition, his daughter Felizitas Mathier Benicchio, a qualified winemaker, has been running the business since 2006. She was the first woman in Switzerland to train as a wine technologist with a federal master's diploma and is fully committed to the philosophy "Natural - Personal - Authentic".

Natural - Natural viticulture that has always been practiced. Pioneering work 40 years ago in the greening of vineyards in Valais, today a company that practices integrated production and cultivates the "vineyard" ecosystem holistically and sustainably - in harmony with nature for nature.
