Description
We offer treatments and consultations in various areas of urology
As a urologist, I mainly deal with diseases of the prostate, tumors and infections of the urinary and reproductive organs or taboo topics such as incontinence and impotence. There are often fears, feelings of shame and inhibitions in this area. This is understandable, but not necessary. Confidential and discreet conversations and consultations are particularly important, and I am happy to take the time for this.
Specifically with us:In addition to the usual treatment options and operations, I also offer the following range of modern treatment options:
- Botox (botolinum toxin)
Botolinum toxin type A (Botox®) is a powdered medication that can be injected endoscopically directly into the bladder muscle in liquid form on an outpatient basis under local anaesthetic in my practice; the treatment takes just a few minutes. The effect itself occurs a few days later and improves the bladder's capacity to hold larger amounts of urine, reduces the urge to urinate at longer intervals and usually results in complete continence.
Botox treatment is just as successful for symptoms of irritable bladder in men and women as it is for neurogenic bladders whose function is impaired by an underlying neurological disorder. A key advantage is that the therapeutic effect takes place directly in the communication between the nerve and bladder muscle cells, meaning that the intake and side effects of medication in tablet form can be reduced or replaced.
Also popularly known as a bladder pacemaker
