Vitaliano Massage
Classic massage
· This is a manual treatment method that is mainly used to prevent and treat disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
Massage is certainly one of the oldest remedies, but definitely the most "instinctive." Who hasn't experienced this themselves:
you automatically rub the area that has come into involuntary contact with something uncomfortable, such as the edge of a desk.
And in doing so, you are applying the simplest form of massage:
Targeted pressure on the tissue relieves the pain.
Classic massage has an effect on both the arterial system and the muscles. It is a very comprehensive form of treatment that uses various techniques to promote circulation, prevent illness, and combat disease.
Manual lymphatic drainage
Manual lymphatic drainage is a form of physical therapy that helps with decongestion. It has a wide range of applications. It's mainly used to treat edema and decongestion in different parts of the body, like the torso and limbs (arms and legs), which can happen after trauma or surgery.
The term "drainage" refers to the therapist "draining" something. In the body, this can only be done naturally – by improving the transport routes. Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, slightly pressing form of treatment, sometimes involving circular hand movements, which stimulate the lymphatic pathways from the head to the periphery.
Foot reflexology
This form of therapy is a type of rebalancing therapy and utilizes the human body's natural regenerative powers.
It is used to treat so-called zones, whereby the human body is divided into longitudinal and transverse zones.
It is assumed that certain zones on the foot are associated with corresponding organs, nerve points that are connected to distant points in the body.
This form of massage has undergone continuous development and, thanks to its diverse applications, serves to promote human well-being.
Connective tissue massage
Connective tissue massage is a form of stimulation therapy. It involves working on the underlying connective tissue by lifting, rubbing, and rolling the different layers of skin. The techniques used increase the tone of the internal organs, connective tissue, muscles, nerves, and vessels without the use of oils.
Background
Connective tissue massage, developed in 1929 by Elisabeth Dick, is subject to a strict treatment procedure. After a visual and tactile examination of the connective tissue zones, the treatment is adapted to the individual needs of the client. Connective tissue massage is based on the so-called "Head zones." These are specific areas of skin with clear boundaries that are connected to the internal organs via nerve pathways.
Goals of connective tissue massage:
- General relaxation of the tissue, muscles, fascia, tendons, and ligaments
- Improvement of arterial and venous blood circulation
- Support of the function of the internal organs
- Help with neurological disorders
- Loosening of tissue adhesions after injuries
- Promotion of the removal of excess acidity and fatty tissue
- Relief from osteoarthritis, spinal pain, and rheumatic diseases
- Strengthening of the immune system
Fascia treatment
Fascia (also fascie, borrowed from the Latin fascia for "band," "bandage") refers to the soft tissue components of connective tissue that permeate the entire body as an enveloping and connecting tension network.
Fascia was long considered to be a passive packaging material of the body. It prevented researchers from seeing the supposedly interesting structures of the body. Various therapists recognized the importance of fascia over 100 years ago.
Fascia surrounds every muscle, every vein, every nerve, and all organs of the body...
They cover all muscles, tendons, and fibers and separate them down to the last fiber.
Fascia is sensitive to various stimuli, including stress, overload from too much exercise, and underuse from lack of exercise. Under such conditions, the elastic fascia thickens, sticks together, and becomes matted, sending signals to the muscles, which then release inflammatory substances.
In fascia therapy, these connective tissue membranes are treated with slow strokes so that they can realign themselves and imbalances are corrected. Fascia treatments help to release deep-seated tension. The body abandons protective postures that were once useful (e.g., protective postures after an accident). Targeted touch allows the tissue to expand.
Kinesiology tape
The kinesiological tape method was developed by Japanese chiropractor Dr. Kenzo Kase in the 1970s.
His main goal was to support the body's own healing processes using a special material and the appropriate application technique. Kinesiology tape is modeled on the properties of the skin and thus transmits positive sensory information to our body. The application techniques were developed after kinesiological testing and were therefore also responsible for the name of the material and the therapy.
Examples of application
Pain, restricted movement, sports injuries, shoulder instability, thrower's shoulder, impingement, rotator cuff problems, whiplash, osteoarthritis, headaches, disc problems, muscle tension
Therapy
The aim of the therapy is not to restrict movement, but to enable the physiological mobility of joints and muscles in order to activate endogenous control and healing processes.
Effect
The positive results of kinesiological taping can be explained by, among other things:
- Normotonicization of the muscles
- Improvement of sensorimotor function (proprioception)
- Improvement of microcirculation
- Activation of the lymphatic system
- Activation of the endogenous analgesic system
- Support of joint functions
- Influence on internal organs
Professional sports massage
Treating hardening and tension in the muscles with specific sports massage techniques. Various therapeutic procedures are performed on the back, neck, buttocks, abdomen, chest, legs, arms, and shoulders. Massages are differentiated and applied appropriately for competition preparation, competition breaks, and competition follow-up. With appropriate sports massages, I support athletes in their regeneration and motivation and can respond correctly to their needs.
