Portrait of Udligenswil
Udligenswil is located in the eastern corner of the canton of Lucerne, where it meets the neighboring cantons of Schwyz and Zug. Our village is part of the Lucerne agglomeration and is about 10 km from the city center.
Since around 1960, Udligenswil has developed from a charming little farming village of yesteryear into a modern, progressive community. The emphasis has always been on quality rather than quantity. The infrastructure has been adapted to population growth in moderate and manageable steps.
The five-member municipal council and the well-organized municipal administration implement the will of the people and plan future development. The four local parties organized in the municipality ensure that democracy remains vibrant and close to the citizens. In addition to the political structures, there are two parishes (Roman Catholic and Protestant) as well as a wide range of cultural, leisure, and sports activities, education, business, society, and social services.
