Description
The Domaine des Loveresses is located in Yens
The Estate
The Domaine des Loveresses is located in Yens, where over 70 hectares of land are dedicated to growing fruits and vegetables. We have made endives and tomatoes our specialties. By practicing sustainable agriculture, we offer healthy and tasty products. Producing ecologically, respecting the seasons, is part of our heritage and the future of the Estate. Among our loyal customers are local grocery stores, restaurants, and other shops selling regional products. We also offer, at our on-site store in Yens, delicious fruits and vegetables, as well as regional products such as meat, eggs, apple juice, etc.
Our Story
Since its creation in 1968 by Michel and Claire-Lise Cornu, the Domaine des Loveresses quickly specialized in market gardening. It was during this period that our first refrigerated halls and forcing rooms were built, primarily dedicated to the cultivation of endives. In the 1980s, with the constant development of the Estate, the first tunnel and greenhouse crops appeared, now housing our tomato, strawberry, and raspberry plants. Today, the second generation, led by Philippe Cornu and his family, heads the Domaine des Loveresses and strives to combine modernity, sustainable development, and the tradition of quality Vaudois products.
Our Crops
Spread across open fields, greenhouses, and growing rooms, our products are grown in Yens. For our endives, before transforming them into chicory in our growing rooms, they are cultivated as roots by 15 regional farmers from La Côte and Gros de Vaud. The rest of our production is grown in open fields and greenhouses. Our endives are produced in winter.
Our Production
We take great care to produce healthy and tasty fruits and vegetables. Our cultivation and production processes are constantly aimed at ecological improvement. For us, producing seasonal fruits and vegetables is inseparable from environmental considerations. That is why our crops are equipped with water recovery systems, and future projects are underway. We have diversified our production to include zucchini, squash, cabbage, turnips, and beets, available in both raw and cooked forms. We also grow strawberries, raspberries, and watermelons in spring and summer.
