Society today

Membership is now open to all practicing dentists. Each member is subject to the SSO's code of conduct and the statutes of the SSO Zug. The association has over 100 members. It includes more than 50 practice owners in the canton of Zug, as well as some of the assistants in private practices. In addition, 10 guest members from other cantons are registered. The SSO Zug represents over 80% of dental practices in the canton of Zug.

 

The association's most important tasks and objectives include:

• Fostering collegiality among members and protecting the dental profession
• Promoting continuing education and training for dentists and practice teams, organizing relevant courses
• Supporting and advising members on all aspects of practice management
• Cooperation with the cantonal and municipal authorities
• Organizing the official dental emergency service
• Running an independent arbitration board for patient complaints regarding treatment or billing
• Organizing and running courses at the vocational school for dental assistants together with other dental associations in Central Switzerland
• Maintaining contact and coordinating with the Swiss Dental Association (SSO), other sections, and professional associations of doctors and pharmacists
