The Swiss Caritas Action for the Blind (CAB) was founded in 1933. As a self-help organization with Christian roots, the CAB has since then been the organization where blind, severely visually impaired and deaf-blind people are on their way together, supported by sighted companions.

The organization is recognized by the federal government and cantons, tax-exempt, independent of party politics and denominationally neutral.
