Sozialwerk Pfarrer Sieber Fachspital Sune-Egge – Contacts & Location
Description
Specialist hospital for social medicine and addiction disorders
Socially disadvantaged people with combined somatic and psychiatric illnesses (dual diagnoses) receive outpatient and inpatient treatment at the Sune-Egge specialist hospital. The service is primarily aimed at adults from the addiction and homeless milieu. Relationship work is key, as some of our patients have a history of challenging behavior.
It is a unique inpatient and outpatient service for the treatment of acute health problems. We do not offer surgical interventions, but pre- and post-operative treatments and are in close collaboration with the hospitals in the area.
We have proven expertise in the treatment of all internal diseases, wounds with difficult healing processes and chronic infections such as HIV and hepatitis. In addition to acute intervention, we also offer support for dementia and in palliative and terminal situations.
We look after patients who stay with us for a short time, but also those whose clinical picture requires a longer stay. The stay can last for over a year, including end-of-life care.As a hospital on Hospital List A of the Canton of Zurich, we treat patients in general wards. The specialist hospital was founded in 1989 by Pastor Ernst Sieber as a socio-medical infirmary in response to the misery of the open drug scene at the time.
