Wohnpflegeheime Schwamendingen - WOHNSCH - Häuptli, Kull und Schörli

The private non-profit association Wohnpflegeheime Schwamendingen WohnSch was founded in 1987 with the aim of creating housing for people in the neighborhood who require care and assistance. The initiators and active pioneers were various interest groups from the health and church communities in the Schwamendingen neighborhood.

Today, the association runs three small residential homes. The centrally located buildings enable residents to live in the heart of the neighborhood.
Each of the homes is designed for elderly people who need care and support due to age-related ailments, mental impairment, or dementia.

Each home has a competent team that meets the needs of the residents.
 
Häuptli residential care home
The Häuptli residential care home is located in the center of Schwamendingen in a building that has been converted for this purpose
It offers 18 single rooms, various common rooms
and large garden seating area, it offers good infrastructure and a life in the heart of the neighborhood.

All rooms have a shower/toilet/washbasin and some have a balcony. They are equipped with a TV connection, telephone, and emergency call system. The rooms are unfurnished except for the nursing beds so that they can be furnished with personal belongings.

The cook serves a delicious menu every day, which is prepared in the Häuptli's own kitchen.
Close contact with the residents allows her to easily respond to their wishes.

At Häuptli, elderly people can enjoy their usual independence and privacy in a small community while still receiving the support and care they need.


 
Residential home for dementia patients Schörli
The friendly and bright Schörli residential home was opened by the WohnSch association in early 2005. The former rectory is located in a quiet residential area in Schwamendingen and has been redesigned according to the criteria for dementia-friendly construction.

It offers space in single and double rooms for 12 people with dementia.
The rooms are unfurnished except for the nursing beds; residents' own furniture and belongings create a sense of familiarity and help
the residents to settle into the residential community. The large, flower-filled garden
with its paths and seating areas invites residents to take a stroll and relax.
 
Residential home, assisted living, shared accommodation Kull
Kull offers a total of 50 places with three different types of accommodation. It accepts people
aged 45 and over who require long-term care and support due to a mental impairment.
The infrastructure of the residential home can be used by all types of accommodation. All types of accommodation are located directly on Schwamendingerplatz and enable the best possible participation in public life. At Kull, people with mental impairments find a place to live that suits their resources and needs.
The type of accommodation is selected according to the wishes and resources of the residents. The small residential units,
the appreciative attitude towards people, the competent care in the reference person system
and the individually adapted daily structure are designed to give residents a sense of security and comfort.

Joint activities and events are available to all residents living at Kull. These include exercise therapy, activation therapy, parties, joint vacations, etc. Anyone who feels like it can also take on a task in the Kull household. The kitchen team offers half or full board and personally serves the varied menus in the communal dining room. Residents are free to choose their own doctor for medical and psychiatric matters. If necessary, the home doctor, Dr. H. Bumbacher, and the home psychiatrist, Dr. E. Gut (Hard Psychiatric Center), are available.

The homes are centrally administered and managed by the management team. The office is located in the Kull residential home.
