Description
Welcome to the Schwamendingen residential care home
The private non-profit association Wohnpflegeheime Schwamendingen WohnSch was founded in 1987 with the aim of creating residential places for people in need of care and nursing in the neighborhood. The initiators and active pioneers were various interest groups from the health and church community in the Schwamendingen district.
The association now runs three smaller residential homes. The centrally located homes make it possible to live in the heart of the neighborhood.
Each of the homes is designed for older people who need care and support either due to their age-related complaints Häuptli, mental impairment Kull or dementia Schörli.
Each home has a competent team that meets the needs of the residents.
Hauptli residential care home
The Häuptli residential care home is located in the center of Schwamendingen in a house
of the Glattal building cooperative that has been converted for this purpose. With its 18 single rooms, various communal rooms
and large garden seating area, it offers a good infrastructure and life in the heart of the neighborhood.
All rooms have a shower/WC/sink and some have a balcony and are equipped with a TV connection, telephone and emergency call system. Except for the care beds, the rooms are unfurnished so that they can be furnished with personal belongings.
The cook serves a delicious menu every day, which is prepared in the Häuptli's own kitchen.
Because of the close contact with the residents, she can easily respond to their wishes.
At Häuptli, elderly people can enjoy the independence and privacy they are used to in a small community and still receive the support and care they need.
Residential home for dementia sufferers Schörli
The friendly and bright Schörli residential home was opened by the WohnSch association at the beginning of 2005. The former vicarage is located in a quiet residential area in Schwamendingen and was redesigned according to the criteria of dementia-friendly construction.
It offers space in single and double rooms for 12 people with dementia.
The rooms are unfurnished except for the care beds; the residents' own furniture and objects create a sense of familiarity and help
the residents to settle into the residential community. The large, flower-filled garden
with its paths and seating areas invites residents to take a walk and relax.
Residential home, assisted individual living, Kull
The Kull offers a total of 50 places with its three different types of accommodation. People aged 45 and over who require long-term support and care due to a mental impairment can be accommodated.
The infrastructure of the residential home can be used for all forms of living. All forms of housing are located directly on Schwamendingerplatz and enable the best possible participation in public life. At Kull, people with mental disabilities find a living space that meets their resources and needs.
The form of housing is selected according to their wishes and resources. The small living units,
the respectful attitude towards people, the competent care provided by the caregiver system
and the individually adapted daily structure are designed to give residents a sense of safety and security.
Communal activities and events are available to all residents living at Kull. These include exercise therapy, activation therapy, parties, vacations together, etc. Anyone who feels like it can also take on a task in the Kull household. The kitchen team offers part or full board and personally serves the varied menus in the communal dining room. There is a free choice of doctor for medical and psychiatric matters. If required, the home doctor Dr. med. H. Bumbacher and the home psychiatrist, Dr. med. E.Gut (Hard Psychiatric Center) are available.
The homes are centrally administered and managed by the management. The office is located in the Kull residential home.
