Our mission consists of the following three areas of activity: • Assisting persecuted Christians Persecution of Christians has many faces. Worldwide, well over 309 million people are discriminated, disowned, disinherited, mistreated, expelled, imprisoned, tortured or killed – simply because they want to follow Jesus and live their faith peacefully. AVC gives these people a voice and supports them practically: courageously, resolutely, effectively. • Helping people in need Poor, without opportunities, without hope, without prospects: This is the life reality for billions of people. AVC helps in the areas of this world with structural poverty or in the middle of crisis, disaster, and war. And very close, in the forgotten countries of Europe. We are committed to helping blind and visually impaired people to live as independently as possible. We want to create an inclusive society in which blind and visually impaired people have a high quality of life. And we have been working on our mission every day since 1958 in our capacity as a charitable self-help organisation.
