ECAP has been active in French-speaking Switzerland since 2007. The first regional office was opened in Lausanne in 2009 thanks to the implementation of a project in cooperation with the UNIA Vaud Trade union. As a result of the development of our activities, a second seat was inaugurated in Vevey in 2010 and we have further developed our field of activity and our educational programme. ECAP Vaud currently offers courses in Lausanne, La Chaux-de-Fond, Le Sentier, Neuchâtel, Nyon, Vevey and Yverdon-les-Bains. ECAP Vaud is an active member of the Coordination romande pour la formation de base des adultes (CRFBA) and the Vaud platform of French courses as a foreign language. Training for welders was particularly in demand because the large industrial companies in Winterthur such as Sulzer, Loki, Rieter and Geilinger in particular needed these specialists. In response to the employment crisis in the 1980s and the wave of immigration from all over Europe, Asia, Africa and South America, the range of courses on offer has been continuously adapted and expanded to meet new needs. Today, the demand for further training of migrants focuses primarily on the acquisition of the German language. Computer science courses for beginners are also popular.
