IRI has been administering maritime and corporate programs since 1948. The RMI Registry is the third largest registry in the world, surpassing 106 million gross tons in June 2014. IRI has a network of 25 worldwide offices that have the ability to register a vessel or yacht, including vessels under construction, record a mortgage or financing charter, incorporate a company, issue seafarer documentation, and service clientele.
