Joints

In the construction industry, a joint is an intentional or tolerance-related gap or space between two components or materials. Depending on the position of the joint, it can also serve a design purpose in addition to its structural purpose. Floor coatings - seamless floors

Floor surfaces are exposed to a variety of stresses:

• Mechanically by conveyor vehicles or heavy machinery and materials
• Chemical due to acids, alkalis, solvents or oils

Cracks in concrete can have many different causes, such as subsidence, shrinkage of the concrete, errors in planning or execution of the construction work.

Water-bearing cracks in particular are the cause of corrosion damage to the reinforcing steel and jeopardize the durability and safety of a concrete structure.

Different requirements determine the choice of system.

As a rule of thumb:

• Static cracks with immobile crack edges, so-called "dead cracks", can be closed with a force fit.
• Dynamic cracks with "movable crack edges" must be closed by stretching
