In my native town of Thun, I attended all schools up to the Matura with Matura type A, classical-literary (Latin, Greek, Hebrew) After studying medicine at the University of Bern, I received my license to practice medicine and a doctorate in medicine from the Medical Faculty of Bern. I got my first assistant position at the surgical department of the regional hospital in Langenthal (Dr. med. H. Lüdi), during which I was also able to work in the anesthesia department (Dr. med. H. Krings). After completing this "foreign year", I moved to Zurich and began my actual specialist training at the University Women's Hospital there (Prof. Dr. med. W.E. Schreiner, Prof. Dr. med. A. Huch, Prof. Dr. med. G. Duc)

I spent the last few years until the end of my specialist training at the University Women's Hospital in Bern (Prof. Dr. med. M. Berger, Prof. Dr. med. G. von Muralt). After completing this training and opening my own practice in Thun, I was granted permission to continue working as an attending physician at the Bern Women's Clinic; during this time

I was involved in student teaching (block teaching), as well as at the midwifery school of the Women's Clinic and as a teacher of obstetrics and gynaecology at the University Children's Clinic (Prof. Dr. med. Ettore Rossi).

At a later stage, I also extended my work as a hospital doctor to the Beau-Site Clinic in Bern and Siloah AG in Gümligen.

After the reorganization of these clinics, which initially no longer offered obstetrics and then also gynaecology, I now work exclusively as an attending physician at Interlaken and Frutigen hospitals.

The focus of my interest lies in surgical gynecology & obstetrics, in particular in minimally invasive procedures, the application of which I have strived for from the very beginning, initially also in the context of several training stays at the University Women's Hospital Kiel (Prof. Dr. med. K. Semm, Prof. Dr. med. L. Mettler). I am married to a medical assistant. We have a son and two daughters.
