After more than 20 years of working at the University Clinic for Neurosurgery at the Inselspital in Bern, I opened my own neurosurgical practice on 01.07.2014. The spacious and quiet practice premises are ideally located on the top floor of the main building of the Salem Hospital in Bern Bern. The hospital has an underground parking garage and is easily accessible from the main train station in 10 minutes by public transport (bus no. 10 in the direction of Ostermundigen, to Salem station).

My main interest is the conservative and surgical treatment of back problems. For conservative therapies, I cooperate with various rheumatologists, neurologists and pain therapists in the city of Bern and the surrounding German and French-speaking parts of Switzerland.

My surgical work is carried out exclusively at Salem Hospital, which belongs to the Hirslanden Group . Surgical treatment includes degenerative conditions of the cervical and lumbar spine such as spinal canal stenosis, disc hernias and synovial cysts.

In addition, I have many years of experience in the invasive treatment of patients with chronic pain and spasticity (multiple sclerosis). In selected cases, this includes the implantation of pain pumps or spinal cord stimulators and their aftercare.

Finally, I provide expert opinions on spinal surgery issues. I have written more than 70 expert reports of all kinds in this field.

The practice team is complemented by Ms. Andrea Riesen and my wife, Renate Stooss Binggeli, who will be happy to provide you with information on all aspects of outpatient and inpatient treatment.
