Gestalt Therapy is a method of humanistic and existential psychotherapy focused on the person developed by Frederick Perls, a German-born psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, in collaboration with Ralph Hefferline and Paul Goodman. Their seminal work, Gestalt Therapy, was published in the USA in 1951.

Gestalt comes from the German verb gestalten which means to shape. Gestalt-Therapy sheds light on the ways, the forms, we have to come into contact with others or to avoid such contact. It focuses on what happens here and now in the relationship between therapist and client. It reveals blockages, fears and all the repetitive behaviors that make us suffer and prevent us from moving forward.

Gestalt Therapy enables us to give movement to our lives, to relearn how to listen to our needs and desires in order to better develop ourselves and experiment with new ways of being.

Who is Gestalt Therapy for ?

-You are experiencing situations of conflict, violence, stress, anxietywith your spouse, a child, a teenager.

-You're looking for support and guidance following bereavement, illness, separation.

-You're suffering from mal-être ; you feel irritable, depressed, anxious. You no longer have any confidence in yourself.

-Your couple is in trouble  the arguments and misunderstanding are driving you apart, dialogue is difficult.

-You want to broaden the way you look at yourself, develop new strengths, act differently.

How does a session work ?

-I look with you at the bond you are weaving with the other (spouse, family, friends) and together we observe what manifests in the present moment  on a mental, bodily and emotional level.

I accompany with respect, involvement and benevolence what is said and experienced during the session and in the physical, emotional and bodily feeling.

-This direct contact between you and me establishes a climate of trust that enables you to explore new paths and experiment with new solutions.

-I offer you a space to listen and exchange in complete confidentiality.
