Dialogai – Contacts & Location
Description
DIALOGAI Association - Geneva
Dialogai was founded in 1982. As a homosexual association, it aims to be a place for listening, conviviality, sharing, meeting, information, welcome and advice...
Dialogai works on the integration of gays into society as full-fledged citizens. Its action tends as much towards the recognition of gays, as towards the defense of homosexuals victims of discrimination or physical or verbal aggression as much in the professional environment as in the social, family, environmental, legal and in all aspects of life.
Checkpoint Geneva
Dialogai is also a Antenna of the Aide Suisse Contre le Sida and, as such, fights against the HIV epidemic through field and prevention actions, but also against the recrudescence of other Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) through two main programs and actions: the Checkpoint Genève testing center and the projet Santé gaie. This rapid screening center enables gays and men who have sex with men (MSM) to get tested for HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and hepatitis. Checkpoint-Geneva also offers vaccination for hepatitis A and B and PEP, the emergency treatment for HIV risk-taking. In the context of confidential and anonymous consultations, the tests also provide an opportunity to discuss one's practices and risk management with a health professional who is aware of gay sexuality, without judgment.
Since 2021, Lestime has also been offering a sexual health clinic for women*, on the premises of Checkpoint Genève, in collaboration with Dialogai Genève.
Refuge Genève
The Refuge Genève, founded on March 31, 2015, is a structure of the Swiss association Dialogai, whose aim is to help young LGBTIQ people.
The Refuge Genève is a springboard towards autonomy and self-affirmation. It is open to those whose sexual orientation or gender identity, real or in question, creates difficulties at school, in society or within the family.
Le Refuge Genève is also open to the entourage and professional.le.s.de.encadrement.
Community health
The Gay health project has existed since 2000 within Dialogai. It is a community-based action research project, carried out in collaboration between actors in the field and researchers in order to gather data on the overall health of gay men in the Lake Geneva region, set priorities based on their real needs and carry out intervention projects to address them.
Through various workshops, actions and community events, the Gay Health campaign aims to highlight the strength of connection and the sense of belonging to a community as a resource for health.
Community activities
Dialogai's community activities are a great way to break isolation and fight mental health ailments, by offering spaces for sharing and exchanging where to have healthy activities.
A place to live, a resource place, a place to exchange, a place to listen, a place to get information, a place to share, Dialogai tries, day after day, to be everyone's space to help be a little more yourself.
Community activities are diverse and include a choir (Les Genevoix), queer Tango, meditation, yoga, etc., among others. You'll find more information here.
Fighting discrimination and LGBTIQ+ rights
Dialogai is an activist and visibility association. It is a member of the ILGA (International Lesbian and Gay Association), de Pink Cross, from the Aide Suisse contre le Sida, the EGIDES, the European Federation of Refugees and the Fédération genevoise des associations LGBT, alongside the 360, Lestime, Think out and Asile LGBT.
Dialogai is dedicated to fighting discrimination through the Stop discriminations which aims both to be a listening ear for victims of homophobia, directing them to the most competent service, but also to promote a fairer and more equal society, through training courses for professionals in connection with LGBTIQ+ themes.
