Musée Barbier-Mueller, arts of Africa, Asia, Oceania and Antiquity
Founded in 1977, the Musée Barbier-Mueller aims at preserving, studying, displaying and publishing a collection begun by Josef Mueller in 1907 and carried on to this day by his heirs.
Today the collection contains over 7,000 articles and includes works of art from Tribal and Classical Antiquity as well as sculptures, fabrics and ornaments from civilizations around the world. Many of these works are considered to be unqualified masterpieces.
The Musée Barbier-Mueller organizes two exhibitions per year displaying a selection of objects from its own collections. Only these pieces are shown to the public.
Entrance fee CHF 8.- (CHF 5.- for seniors, students, group of more than 10 persons)
