Restaurant Sedel

Located high above Herisau in the beautiful Appenzellerland, "der Sedel" is still a popular and nationally renowned excursion destination. The reopening was celebrated on 01.09.2023 and the entire children's paradise was refreshed. In addition to the well-known attractions, there are also new features such as the bowling alley and the variety show.

Chef Jan, chef Andreas and the entire team look forward to delighting
you with their outstanding culinary skills. The restaurant offers fresh, seasonal and, above all, homemade specialties. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but the self-service buffet and barbecue trolley remain open in the high season when the weather is fine. Here you can also get raw sausages, which can be grilled at the new barbecue area in the middle of the children's paradise.  

Our beer garden with over 140 seats invites you to enjoy the wonderful view and a beer after work. The restaurant has a dining room with space for up to 80 people and an outdoor service area for 60 people. The self-service terrace area offers space for 120 people.

The toilets are wheelchair-accessible and the entire restaurant, self-service area and terrace are wheelchair-accessible. There are also around 150 parking spaces available free of charge on 3 parking levels.

Dogs are welcome everywhere in our outdoor area. In the restaurant and in the self-service area, we kindly ask you to leave your dog outside - as signposted on site. Thank you for your understanding.
