General tasks of the Residents' Services

• Maintenance and management of the residents' register, including all personal changes and various statistics

• Counter and telephone service with customer advice and support

• Preparation of various applications and requests for the passport office and the Migration Office of the Canton of Zurich

• Maintaining and managing the electoral register and ballot box service for early voting

• Checking and certifying signature sheets for initiatives and referendums

• Settling the daily cash account

• Authority for matters relating to trade, market, and economic policing

• Dog control

• Management of the lake rescue service for the municipalities of Horgen, Thalwil, Oberrieden, and Herrliberg
