Fuego y Alegria – Contacts & Location
Description
Fuego y Alegria in Lausanne
The Fuego y Alegria school was founded in autumn 1995 in the basement of Place Chauderon 5, Lausanne, in our studio, where our shows were already being created and rehearsed. The school is open all year round from Monday to Thursday for classes at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, as well as from Monday to Friday from 12.30pm for private and semi-private lessons.
.Teaching
The teaching offered is based on technical, rhythmic and choreographic aspects. We also place great importance on the history, origin and meaning of the dances worked on. Flamenco has to be experienced, and for that it's important to understand and feel it well, especially as we don't live in the same culture.
Spectacles
Fuego y a Alegria's creations are motivated by a passion for traditional flamenco, where joy and sadness, passion and pain rub shoulders, far from tourist clichés. Classically trained, Christine Guignard, the group's choreographer, also dabbled in jazz, contemporary, character and ballroom dances, before devoting herself entirely to flamenco in 1989.
