Intrauterine insemination (homologous - heterologous)
The least complex assisted reproduction treatment. The technique closest to natural fertilisation. It can be performed with the partner's or donor's sperm.

In Vitro Fertilisation IVF/ICSI (homologous - heterologous)
In vitro fertilisation is the technique most commonly used in assisted reproduction centres. It is a procedure that involves fertilising eggs with sperm in the laboratory with the aim of generating an embryo. The embryos are cultured for a few days and then transferred to the woman's uterus to continue their natural development process.

Egg donation with transfer in Italy
This technique is used when the chances of achieving pregnancy using the patient's own eggs are very low or even non-existent. It consists of in vitro fertilisation using eggs from a donor.

Treatments for female couples
Married female couples can officially access assisted reproduction treatments in Switzerland, specifically: intrauterine insemination with donor sperm (IAD) or IVF with donor sperm.

Clinical Andrology Service: TESE - MicroTESE
Dr Giovanni Maria Colpi and his team will choose the retrieval technique to be used based on the factor causing the absence of sperm in the ejaculate and the patient's state of health. The technique will be determined following in-depth genetic, hormonal, serological, clinical and ultrasound examinations.
Sperm retrieved surgically can be cryopreserved and used at a later date for ICSI (even for multiple cycles, if their quantity allows), or used fresh, performing ICSI on the same day as the partner's egg retrieval.

Egg cryopreservation
Fertility preservation, also known as egg cryopreservation or social freezing, is an alternative for postponing motherhood. It involves vitrifying/freezing eggs while they are still young, so that they can be used later.

Cryopreservation of semen
Sperm are stored in liquid nitrogen at temperatures below -196 °C: under these conditions, sperm cells retain their viability and functionality.
