Welcome to Regensdorf
Dear visitor to
Dear visitor to
We warmly welcome you to Regensdorf.
With around 20,000 inhabitants (current population statistics) and an area of 14.6 square kilometers, Regensdorf is one of the largest municipalities in the Zurich Unterland region and belongs to the district of Dielsdorf. Facing the cantonal capital, it lies at 442 meters above sea level, nestled against the scenic Katzenseen lakes and stretching across the entire width of the Furttal valley. Down the valley on the right-hand side are the villages of Buchs and Otelfingen, with Boppelsen nestled between them, slightly off to the side, against the hills. To the left of the Furtbach stream, the villages of Dällikon, Dänikon, and Hüttikon are strung out at a respectful distance from one another.
Regensdorf is a mixture of rural idyll and bustling suburbia. Its ideal transport links, proximity to the city, and large recreational area make Regensdorf an attractive place to live where you can feel completely at home. Despite its size, Regensdorf has not lost its village charm. Examples of this are the old village centers, the vineyard on the sunny slope, and the Altburg ruins.
But Regensdorf also stands for modernity and dynamism: with the "Bahnhof Nord" project, Regensdorf will be enriched with a modern and urban district with space for a total of 6,500 residents and jobs within around 25 years.
This is how we envision Regensdorf in 30 years: an urban regional center in the sustainably developed Furttal valley with inviting meeting places, diverse gathering spots and shops, lively village centers in Adlikon, Regensdorf, and Watt, quiet residential neighborhoods, well-run schools, spacious community facilities, and 20,000 jobs.
