Description
Method and effect
The craniosacral method is part of complementary therapy. In the approach of cranosacral biodynamics the main orientation is towards the inherent health, the self-healing powers and the resources of the person.
Craniosacral therapy was further developed at the beginning of the 20th century on the basis of osteopathy (bone healing).
The name craniosacral is made up of cranium ( skull ) and sacrum ( sacrum ). These two poles form a unit with the membranes of the brain and spinal cord, in which the cerebrospinal fluid pulsates rhythmically. This pulsation is transmitted to the whole body. Changes in this system, caused for example by an accident, illness, stress etc., provide the necessary indications for therapeutic work with the affected structures.
The treatment takes place lying down in comfortable clothing, but can also be carried out sitting down, depending on the issue and situation. By gently touching specific points on the client's body, it is possible to come into contact with deep calm and stillness and to notice internal changes, e.g. in the tissue and energy flow. The work is stress-reducing and regulating and supports the self-healing powers. The client's self-awareness is encouraged and deepened and consolidated through accompanying conversation.A treatment usually lasts one hour, but can be shorter for children and older peopleThe number and frequency of sessions depends on the healing process and in consultation with the client.
