The world's first museum dedicated to food, the Alimentarium has been presenting the many facets of human nutrition from a global, independent perspective for over 35 years. Adopting a multidisciplinary approach that is as much cultural and historical as it is scientific and nutritional, the Museum has established itself over time as an essential reference point for food, thanks to its bold and offbeat programming
.
At the heart of the Museum's offering, the permanent exhibition " Manger - L'essence de vie " invites young and old alike to take a fresh look at an activity as steeped in history as it is emotionally charged: eating. Combining discovery, experimentation and in-depth knowledge, this original scenography takes visitors on a fun, interactive journey through three exhibition sectors: Food, Society and the Body. Enhanced by projections, interactive terminals and video installations, this immersive experience will make visitors aware of the influence that food can have on their bodies and their environment.
.
Inseparable from the theme of food, hands-on experimentation is an integral part of the Museum's DNA. Every day, a wide range of activities related to food and nutrition are on offer.
