The oval sign at 45 Rue du Lac has been replaced by a round one.
Inside, everything has changed.
LE CARRE brings together the four spaces of this cross-street establishment:
On the street side, the café and its terrace.
Upstairs, the brasserie and its veranda with a panoramic view of the lake.
On the lake side, on Quai Perdonnet, the night bar and, opposite, the open-air terrace.
As lovers of good words—we are Belgian at heart—we wanted to have a little fun. Play with words.
So, the former Scotch bar is now called LE BARDU carré.
And the former Petit Théâtre has become LE BORDU carré.
LE CARRE also gives a nod to the Carré in Liège, the festive district of Liège, a city in southeastern Belgium known for its conviviality.

3SEASONAL, HOMEMADE CUISINE
You won't find pineapples at CARRE. Or avocados.
However, we are happy to serve mussels from Zeeland and shrimp from Ostend.
It goes without saying that if you want to cook some typical Belgian dishes in this restaurant, you have to source certain ingredients from a few miles away from Vevey.
But rest assured, all our products come from Europe, and most of them from Switzerland, or even French-speaking Switzerland.
Breadstore supplies us with bread, made with all the expertise of a MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France).
The meat for our burgers comes from Ruchet, Vevey's famous gourmet butcher.
The fish is caught exclusively in Lake Geneva.
The dairy products, fruit, and vegetables are all Swiss.
We serve several wines from Vaud and Valais.
