diabetes zürich (formerly Zürcher Diabetes Gesellschaft) is the official representative of people with diabetes in the canton of Zurich. Our diabetes counseling complements the medical care we provide for diabetes management - we take time for you. In the individualized nutritional consultation, no prohibitions are imposed on you, but measures suitable for everyday life are discussed. Thanks to medical foot care, we also provide podiatry care for diabetic feet. You can also obtain diabetes equipment such as blood glucose meters, blood glucose test strips and sensors from us at the price reimbursed by health insurers.

• Diabetes counseling

Diabetes counseling, which is carried out by diabetes consultants - female nurses with in-depth additional training - provides you with expert and individual support for your diabetes management in everyday life. You will learn more about your metabolism, the effects of various external influences and medication etc. and will be able to better control your blood sugar levels.

Nutritional advice

In the nutritional consultation, which is carried out by a nutritionist with a university degree, you will receive expert and individual support to optimize your eating habits and / or to lose weight. It is up to you to decide which measures you would like to implement and where you would rather not make any adjustments.

medical foot care

People with diabetes need to take special care of their feet. Nerve damage and circulatory disorders lead to a loss of feeling in the feet and wounds heal more poorly. Unfortunately, foot injuries are often not noticed in time. Blisters caused by shoes that are too tight or ill-fitting are also often recognized too late and cutting your own toenails can be dangerous.

psychosocial counseling

One of the main goals for people with diabetes is to maintain a good quality of life and thus their mental well-being. The daily challenge of learning to deal with the disease and implementing therapeutic measures can be tackled with the help of our nutritionists and diabetes consultants.

CHF 75.00 for people with earned income
CHF 60.00 for pensioners with AHV or IV and social welfare recipients
CHF 50.00 for students, apprentices, school pupils and young people up to the age of 18 without earned income
