Osogna Safe Driving SA - Pedagogical Academy of Circulation From the collaboration of the Osogna Safe Driving and the Accademia Pedagogica della Circolazione of Biasca comes the organization licensed to teach the Compulsory Supplementary Training Courses more commonly referred to as "2-step Courses" for new drivers in Ticino. As of Dec. 1, 2005, those who obtain a driver's license of category A (motorcycle) or B (car) and thus will have followed the normal theoretical and practical training course of the "first stage," will have to take one day of additional training within 1 year from the date of passing the practical driving test. The duration of the probationary license is always 3 years from the date of obtaining it. The basic practical training lasts 12 hours and consists of modules 1-2-3, which must be completed in chronological order. Those who obtained the A1 license (before 01/01/2021) and wish to obtain the A 35 kW license must complete the training by only performing module 3 (4 hours). Candidates for the A 35 kW license cannot complete the basic practical training with vehicles of the A1 subcategory. Direct access to the unlimited A category is no longer possible, and one must wait 2 years from obtaining the A 35 kW category. Minimum age for category A 35 kW 18 years : Motor vehicles with an engine power not exceeding 35 kW and a power-to-weight ratio not exceeding 0.20 kW/kg.
