THE BIRTH OF CANTINA BÖSCIORO Cantina Böscioro was founded in 1992 by Vosti Enos and Gabriela with the construction of the cellar in Gerra-Piano. The name Böscioro comes from the dialect of the chimney sweep of Vogorno and means wine. At first, it was a secondary activity, but over time, with much passion and dedication, the company grew, increasing both grape and wine production. In 2008, a second, larger cellar was built, still in Gerra-Piano. Our Services Cantina Böscioro offers numerous services related to the world of viticulture and oenology. Wine Sales Retail and B2B sales of our finest wines. Consulting Service We offer personalized consulting for your needs. Wine Vinification for Third Parties We provide a service for third-party grape vinification. Grape Sales A portion of the grapes is vinified, the rest sold to other wineries. REQUEST A QUOTE A NEW ERA FOR CANTINA BÖSCIORO In 2004, Enos and his son Sandro, who had just completed his studies at the specialized school of Changins as a winemaker and oenologist, took the big step, dedicating themselves 100% to the winemaking business. The cellar has seen steady growth over the years, and in 2023, the baton was passed to son Sandro, still with the help of the whole family. Today, the cellar produces high-quality wines that reflect the commitment and passion of the Böscioro family for viticulture. THE PRIVILEGED POSITION OF CANTINA BÖSCIORO'S VINEYARDS Cantina Böscioro, located in the Ticino region of Italian-speaking Switzerland, owns several parcels of vineyard land distributed throughout the surrounding area, including those located in the Gerra Piano area, where the cellar is located. The geographical location of the region, with its Mediterranean climate and exposure to the sun, offers optimal conditions for grape cultivation and the production of high-quality wines. In particular, the vineyards are located in hilly areas between Gordola and Gudo, where they benefit from excellent sun exposure that allows for high-quality grapes. Part of the vineyards are partially mechanized with small tools, while another part is located in the plains in Quartino, where another grape variety is cultivated. All this contributes to ensuring the excellence of the wines produced by Cantina Böscioro. PRODUCTION OF HIGH-QUALITY WINES AND ATTENTION TO GRAPE SELECTION Cantina Böscioro is a company dedicated to the production of high-quality wines, carefully selecting the grapes grown in its own vineyards. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the cellar and carefully selected to produce different qualities of wine, including whites, rosés, and reds. My passion for cooking began in my childhood, when I spent my holidays in the Grisons and enjoyed exploring every corner of my grandparents' hotel. My restaurant is a blend of Italian and French taste, emphasizing quality. This quality starts with the selection of products, all fresh and of the highest quality. I offer a light cuisine, without altering the ingredients and flavors. Our menu is entirely replaced at the beginning of each season, and the tasting menu is renewed every month. Awards The Locanda Orico restaurant has been awarded a Michelin star and scored 16/20 points in Gault & Millau (Rising Star of the Year 2003). In 2021, it received the Swiss Culinary Merit Award. It is also well-regarded in other guides such as La Suisse Gourmande and Le Guide Bleu. Additionally, it is a member of Les Grandes Tables de Suisse, San Pellegrino Sapori Ticino, Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, and Commanderie des Cordons Bleus de France. The Master Behind the Flavors: Chef Lorenzo Albrici I had the fortune of assisting the brigade at Frédy Girardet's restaurant. My name is Lorenzo Albrici, and since 1998, I have worked as the owner and chef at the Locanda Orico restaurant. I spent several years working as a cook, during winter seasons in the kitchens of large hotels in Engadin and during summer seasons in major hotels in other Swiss cities. The Wine Cellar The Locanda Orico restaurant offers a cellar with many labels of fine wines, including the best selection of local and international wines. Our professional sommeliers will be happy to advise you and meet your every need. We also have an excellent selection of half-bottles, and you can also ask to pair your menus with wine by the glass. We also offer you the option to take home any wine that is not entirely consumed during dinner. Feel free to ask our staff, who will gladly prepare a takeout package for you. Interiors The restaurant has two independent, well-kept, and elegant rooms, with soft lighting and exposed beams on the ceilings. In the large room on the right, there are six tables accommodating a maximum of 21 people. In the smaller room on the left, there are four tables for a maximum of 10 people. The rooms can be reserved individually for your special occasions. Banquets The two rooms can accommodate up to a maximum of 40 people (in the large room, up to a maximum of 28, and in the small room, up to a maximum of 12). For any reservations, even for a smaller number, do not hesitate to contact the restaurant.
