The Märtplatz Foundation is a training institution for young people facing psychological and social challenges. Around 45 individuals are trained in eleven workshops and studios, usually aged between 16 and 25. Vocational training takes place in a protected environment, with subsequent integration into the primary job market. Most trainees are referred by the disability insurance authority, in some cases by the juvenile court or a social services agency. The focus of the training is on the individual – their talents, interests, and abilities: strengths are nurtured, and manual, technical, and professional skills are learned and deepened. The training process takes into account specific difficulties and deficits. In this way, we offer all trainees a personalized education – in manual, creative, culinary, and technical professions. The goal is successful training and sustainable integration into the workforce. The following qualifications are offered: Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (EFZ), Federal Vocational Certificate (EBA), and Practical Training according to INSOS (PrA). The Märtplatz Foundation was established in 1985 and is based in Freienstein, Zurich. The workshops and studios are located on the grounds of a former cotton spinning mill. Two shops are located in Embrach, and one in Rorbas.

Wir haben alle unsere drei Kinder dort unterbringen dürfen und wirklich sehr positive Erfahrungen gemacht: sehr gute, enge Beziehungen der Kinder zu den Lehrpersonen, dadurch grosses Vertrauen und gutes Selbstvertrauen der Kinder, verbunden mit positiver Lernbereitschaft. Die Kinder entwickeln dadurch ein gutes und positives Selbstwertgefühl. Sie lernen selbständiges und selbstbestimmtes Arbeiten, bereits im Kindergarten, was ihnen viel Freude und Zufriedenheit bereitet. Sie sind frei vom Druck der, ansonsten üblichen, ständigen Bewertung und können ihre freie Zeit ausserhalb der Schule, ohne Hausaufgaben, geniessen. Unsere Kinder haben ihre Zeit in der IG Kinderwerkstatt alle sehr genossen und sich dort immer sehr wohl und besonders auch anerkannt gefühlt, so wie sie sind!!

Die Bénédict-Schule hat mir sehr viel beigebracht, vor allem habe ich mein Deutsch verbessert und viel viel neues gelernt. Ich bin nur drei Jahre in der Schweiz und damals dachte ich, dass das unheimlich schwer für mich wird, aber ich habe es geschafft und will noch weiter studieren. Bis bald!

As skilled all-rounders, we handle all tasks related to caretaking, both indoors and outdoors – including heating oil checks and lawn mowing. We also clean windows, carpets, staircases, and forecourts. Our service offering also includes transportation and waste disposal. In the garden, we trim hedges and shrubs. Our team consists of experienced maintenance specialists and vocational trainers, as well as apprentices who are completing their training as certified building maintenance specialists (EFZ) or maintenance practitioners (EBA).

Ich habe heute Morgen notfallmässig Frau Van Acken telefonisch kontaktiert. Sie hat extra für mich ihre Mittagspause verkürzt so dass ich bereits um 12:00 einen Termin erhalten konnte.
