The official 24-hour emergency call center for Basel-Stadt, Baselland, and parts of the cantons of Aargau and Solothurn

In life-threatening medical emergencies, always dial 144 on your phone!

In non-life-threatening cases or if your family doctor is unavailable, the doccall app connects you to the local emergency call center anywhere in Switzerland – or, if you prefer, to the emergency call center for your place of residence.

The official emergency call center for the Basel region

The medical emergency center coordinates the emergency services of doctors, dentists, psychiatrists, and pharmacies in the northwestern region of Switzerland (Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft, Dorneck-Thierstein, and lower Fricktal).

If you need the help of a doctor, our center can put you in direct contact with the appropriate person or call an ambulance. To this end, the MNZ has maintained good working relationships with medical associations, hospitals, and other institutions in the region for decades.

You can reach the medical emergency center around the clock, 365 days a year. Your call will be answered by one of our experienced nursing staff. All calls are recorded as part of our quality assurance process. Patient confidentiality is of course guaranteed at all times.

The MNZ offers:

• Medical information and advice from trained, experienced nursing staff
   
• Referrals to emergency medical assistance (general practitioners, dentists,
  pediatricians, and specialists), pharmacies, Spitexpress, transportation for people with disabilities, etc.
   
• Use of ambulances and other emergency transport

Can't reach your family doctor?

If your family doctor is unavailable (e.g., away on vacation) and has not specified a replacement, call 061 261 15 15 to be connected to the emergency doctor on duty. The MNZ nursing staff will perform a triage before connecting you to the emergency doctor to ensure that you receive the right kind of help.

Do you need medical advice?

If you have health problems or issues, you can get professional advice around the clock by calling 061 261 15 15. You will not incur any costs other than the normal telephone rate.
