Osteria Carletti is located in Bedano, a few kilometers from Lugano, in the historic center of the village. The traditional restaurant, with its unique and refined interior decoration—restored while preserving its history and warmth—exudes a unique and unmistakable atmosphere. History

In 1885, our ancestor Costantino Carletti opened the "Grotto Carletti" business. It is assumed that, in those years, there were no rooms in the building, only his apartment on the upper floors. Until the early 1990s, there were two bocce courts and a rest area with a wine cellar in the nearby vineyard.

During the hottest periods, the grotto was closed and the "transhumance" took place in the adjacent land, called Ciòs, where people played bocce, drank, and ate. At the same time, Costantino also developed the business of buying and selling wine: in fact, not far from the Strada Cantonale, there was a warehouse with the sign "Vini Carletti."

Since then, there have been many phases of renovation and expansion, leading to today's "Osteria Carletti" – a hotel and restaurant with about twenty beds and several dining and meeting rooms. Subsequent generations, each in their own way, have contributed to the development of the building and the vineyard.

The last major phases were completed at the end of May 2022, during which the bar and reception area were added. As for the management, Costantino was the first and last manager of the Carletti family.

Today, we are pleased to introduce the new managers: Yvonne and Stefano Caligari, to whom we wish all the best for their start and continuation of the business. Yvonne will play a leading role in the management of the restaurant-hotel, while Stefano will be able to express his professional passion as a winegrower and winemaker: together, they will bring their experience and enthusiasm to the delight of your palates.

Restaurant

A typical osteria with a main dining room that can seat up to 50 people and a rustic wine press room where meetings and tastings for up to 30 people can be organized. Grilled meat, Mediterranean cuisine, and local products will delight the palates of gourmets.

During the summer, you can enjoy our specialties while sitting comfortably on the terrace under the pergola; the cool air and intense aroma of American grapes will make your stay even more pleasant.

Vineyard

For over a century, Osteria Carletti has been welcoming its customers within the walls of the village of Bedano, a meeting place for the local population. In addition to the restaurant and hotel, at Osteria Carletti you can enjoy numerous wines from all over the world and, above all, wine produced in-house directly from our vineyard. Treat yourself to a moment of relaxation and accompany our culinary creations with a good wine. Our staff will be happy to offer advice and accompany you on this unique journey of flavors and traditions.

Osteria Carletti has several rooms furnished and renovated in vintage style. We offer our guests free parking, Wi-Fi throughout the building, and breakfast is included in the price of your stay. All rooms have a private bathroom. Treat yourself to a relaxing and revitalizing stay. In the morning, you can enjoy a continental breakfast, included in the price of your stay, while in the evening you can sample our Mediterranean cuisine in our restaurant. We have numerous rooms, decorated and restored in vintage style to preserve their authenticity and tradition, which has been handed down since 1885.
