Our offer
Our therapists have over 20 years of experience in traditional Chinese medicine, and their services are recognized by supplementary insurance policies for complementary medicine.
Treatment methods
The therapist uses their index, middle, and ring fingers to feel the pulse at three different points on the left and right wrists. According to conventional medical standards, it is not important whether the pulse is too high or too low. TCM recognizes many different pulse qualities (thin, string-like, fluttering, etc.). This tells the therapist where there is excess or deficiency of energy in the patient's body and allows them to apply the appropriate methods. The tongue provides important clues for determining the energy quality in the individual organs.
Nature has given the human body extensive self-healing abilities. Acupuncture is a typical example of how Chinese medicine specifically mobilizes this self-healing ability to combat disease. During acupuncture treatment, the needles inserted into the body by the therapist trigger the body's own stress responses. The nervous, endocrine, respiratory, digestive, circulatory, musculoskeletal, immune, and urogenital systems respond to this and immediately release a variety of bioactive substances: neurotransmitters from the nervous system, various hormones from the endocrine system, protective substances, alexin, and tumor inhibitors from the immune system, digestive enzymes from the digestive system, etc.
The body's own autoregulatory feedback mechanism transports the bioactive substances to the various organ systems of the body. In this way, acupuncture therapy triggers the body's own self-regulation and stimulates its self-healing powers.
Cupping, moxibustion, heat therapy, ear acupuncture, and plum blossom needle treatment are other forms of acupuncture treatment.
Electroacupuncture is based on the same theories and principles as acupuncture with needles.
In electroacupuncture, the acupuncture needles are additionally electrically stimulated so that they emit a weak current into the tissue around the respective acupuncture point. According to TCM theory, this additionally stimulates the circulation of qi.
Tui-Na massage influences the meridians and their collateral vessels. This is done using various hand movements. Tui (pushing) and Na (pinching) are the two most important techniques.
During treatment, the doctor locates the blocked meridians and focuses on the diagnosis, energy stagnation, and disharmonies. The acupuncture meridians are treated with very fast, energetic hand movements. Once the doctor has treated the affected meridians, joint and muscle blockages are released in a similar way to manual medicine.
The air in cupping glasses of various sizes is heated and the glasses are placed on the skin. The cooling of the air in the glasses creates a vacuum, which acts like a connective tissue massage. The flow of qi, blood, and lymph fluid is stimulated. Local blood circulation in the skin and muscle layers is promoted.
So-called moxa cigars are usually used, which are sticks made of dried and pressed mugwort (Artemisia). These cigars are lit and the glowing end is brought to within 5 to 10 mm of the acupuncture point to be treated until the patient feels a distinct heat. The cigar is then briefly removed and the process is repeated until the treated area of skin reddens. This type of treatment is mainly used for "cold findings."
