May 30, 2020 | Martine CuennetThe Café de Certoux is a place for conviviality and sharing. Far from the high-sounding names, often conceptual to meet the fashion of the moment, it offers itself without unnecessary fudging.
The building itself plays no different score. Located on the outskirts of Geneva, in a village with excellent motorway access, it differs little from the surrounding residential buildings. Only its slightly larger size betrays its past as an agricultural farm.
The Restaurant has existed in its present form since 1983.
The Café de Certoux is a village pint transformed into a gastronomic rendez-vous not to be missed. Its kitchen garden overflows with vegetables and herbs, and a few rabbits are lovingly raised. This little paradise is sure to delight the most discerning gourmet.
Creative, daring, using top-quality produce and harmonious combinations, chef Bernard Livron's affordable cuisine makes Café de Certoux one of the canton's finest tables.
The Rooms Two rooms provide warm, comfortable service.
The Terrace In fine weather, a terrace shaded by century-old lime trees lets you take full advantage of the bucolic surroundings. A hedge separates it from the carefully tended vegetable garden and a magnificent farmyard, the owner's real hobby. Birds as rare as they are sumptuous frolic there in complete peace, none of them ending up in the pan.
The Café de Certoux offer is very rich.
Other La Carte, a Plat du Jour (which changes every day!) is offered from Tuesday to Friday, as well as a Menu de Midi for 2 people.
A Speciality of the Moment is still offered according to the quality of the products and the seasons.
