Hyperemia develops in our largest organ, the skin, causing the pores to open and the blood vessels to dilate. The blood supply increases and the oxygen supplied lowers the tone, which sets off a chain reaction deep down. The muscles relax and so do the organs. Depending on the type of massage, I can work both reflexively and selectively.
