The context in which we operate influences our approach to the project in a decisive way. To produce appropriate design proposals, we believe it essential to take into account the urban fabric and the morphological properties of the landscape. By drawing on architectural models of the past, understood as typological references for formal and composition purposes, we identify a theme connecting the context to our design proposal. The basic idea behind each of our works always stems from the interpretation of a way of living and experiencing space in a given context, both physically and trough social interaction. Wir haben ein Haus aus dem 16. Jahrhundert in der Collina D´Oro gekauft und von Thomas Kaelin (BAUM Studio) komplett umfangreich sanieren und Umbauen lassen. Die Liegenschaft ist nun wie neu ohne dass sie an ihrem Charme verloren hat. Wir hatten schon viele Liegenschaften gekauft und saniert. So reibungslos und vertrauensvoll wie mit Thomas Kaelin hat die Zusammenarbeit mit einem Architekten noch nie funktioniert. Wir bedanken uns für die aussergewöhnliche und tolle Leistung und wir haben Thomas bereits in weiteren Projekten beauftragt. Vielen Dank Thomas ! Die Liegenschaft ist grandios geworden !

Studio Calori – Works and Projects Since 1982, Studio Calori has been designing and realizing a wide range of architectural works, both public and private, standing out for its attention to context, functionality, and aesthetic quality. Among the main completed projects: • 1987 – Nursing home “Al Pagnolo” , Sorengo • 1987 – Project for the “Al Castell” park, Montagnola • 1989 – Historical analysis and preliminary study for the extension of the Sant’Abbondio cemetery, Gentilino • 1992 – Renovation and restoration of an apartment building by architect Mario Chiattone, Viganello • 1995 – Infrastructure project for the lake area, port, and leisure facilities at Pian Roncate/Montagnola • 2006 – Extension of the “Al Pagnolo” nursing home, Sorengo • 2018 – Reception center for asylum seekers of the Swiss Red Cross (Sottoceneri section), Piano della Stampa/Lugano • 2019 – Renovation, restoration, and extension of a building listed as a cultural heritage site in Vico Morcote, converted into a Relais Over the years, the Studio has also taken part in numerous architectural competitions at the municipal, cantonal, national, and international levels, strengthening its expertise and recognition.

Matteo Devittori (1972) was born in Biasca and is the owner of the " Devittori architettura sagl " architecture studio. After obtaining his architecture diploma in 1993 from the Technical School (STS) in Lugano , he gained several years of professional experience in various architecture firms. In 1998, he was registered with the OTIA (Ordine Ticinese degli Ingegneri e Architetti – Ticino Order of Engineers and Architects) . At the end of the year 2000, he opened his own architecture studio in Biasca and started working as an independent architect. In 2009, he obtained the "DAS Diploma of Advanced Studies in Energy Management" from SUPSI in Lugano. Since 2010, he has been registered as an REG B architect (Swiss Register Foundation for Professionals in Engineering, Architecture, and Environment). In May 2012, the studio changed its legal structure and became "Devittori architettura sagl." Today, the studio provides services for all phases of an architectural project , including both new constructions and renovations of existing buildings , always carried out with seriousness and professionalism . Additionally, it collaborates with other architectural firms, taking on part-time assignments and external mandates . In each project, particular attention is given not only to precise architectural planning and technical-construction execution but also to energy efficiency and consumption optimization , which are crucial aspects that should not be overlooked. This topic is addressed right from the conceptual design stage , where factors such as building shape, orientation, relationship with climate elements, and internal space distribution are carefully analyzed.
