Alessandro Motta - Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist in Lugano

I obtained my degree in Clinical and Community Psychology from the University of Padua in 1996, followed by professional licensure as a psychologist in 1998. Subsequently, I obtained a diploma in Clinical Hypnosis in 2003 from the Fondation Ling (now IRHYS) in Lausanne. I also received cantonal authorization to practice as a psychologist from the Health Office in Bellinzona. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE After engaging in psychotherapeutic work on myself, utilizing both Jungian and Freudian approaches, I worked initially as an educator and social worker, and later as a psychologist and psychotherapist. I have treated a wide range of disorders, from pathological addictions to neurotic, psychotic, and borderline psychopathologies. I also have experience in testing, including both projective, intellectual, and neuropsychological tests. PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC APPROACH I integrate various influences into my psychotherapeutic practice, including Freud, Green, Winnicott, Klein, Erikson, and Jung. Alongside traditional psychoanalytic theory, I also utilize post-Freudian theories and Jungian approaches, as well as brief psychotherapies based on the Ericksonian approach to clinical hypnosis. CLINICAL HYPNOSIS Clinical hypnosis is an important part of my therapeutic approach. It induces a trance state that facilitates communication with unconscious resources. Hypnosis can address a wide range of disorders, including psychosomatic disorders, childbirth preparation, chronic pain, sleep disorders, stress, pathological addictions, and more. It can also be used to enhance coping with daily difficulties, overall health, and smoking cessation. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS OF HYPNOSIS Hypnosis can be applied in various contexts, such as exam preparation, sports competitions, or professional performances. It can also be used to increase well-being and satisfaction in daily life, especially through self-hypnosis. AREAS OF EXPERTISE • Psychological counseling • Psychotherapy • Child and adolescent psychology • Clinical psychology • Test assessment • Sports psychology • Supervision • Expert testimony • Hypnosis • Relaxation techniques FIELDS OF ACTIVITY • Psychotherapy supervision • Counseling • Expert assessment AGE RANGE Children, Adolescents, Adults, Seniors. The consultation can be conducted in French and Portuguese. Life as a couple is the result of a union of two people. This union is subject to movements of change, within the couple as well as among each individual who constitutes the couple.. When the desires for change and the desires can be addressed within the couple, they take place in a "certain harmony". On the other hand, when these subjects cannot be addressed or heard by the partner, it leads to crisis and couple conflicts. Usually, crisis is synonymous with growth and accompanies each Human Being throughout his life.. These moments of crisis and questioning are often accompanied by a malaise. Those who experience it no longer feel comfortable in their daily lives. In order not to suffer too much and avoid drastic decisions, conjugal consultation is recommended. It is also possible when a couple thinks that there is nothing more to be done. To move towards the resolution of the crisis, it is enough to want to make a change and wish to question oneself. To do this, the conjugal consultation aims to offer a neutral, caring and safe space, within which all the subjects that crisscross the couple’s life can be addressed through communication.. If for the degradation of couple life it takes two to participate, on the other hand to start a reflection and then make a change, sometimes the desire of only one of the partners can be sufficient.. Consultations (not reimbursed by the health insurance funds) are paid in cash at the end of each session. How to consult? Individually or as a couple Reasons to consult? If you think that your life as a couple no longer corresponds to what you desire or expect. If you have the feeling of no longer understanding yourself. If you feel lonely or misunderstood. If you are thinking about separation. If you can no longer talk to each other and understand each other as a family, with or around your children. If your sexuality poses a problem. If you no longer have sexuality in the couple. If you feel that you have sexual problems, whether physical or psychological. Conjugal and family counselling, as well as sexology counselling, are psychological work with couples, married or not, and/or families who suffer from difficulties in their joint life. These sessions aim to find a better balance and aim at improving communication within the couple, the family, or towards the acceptance of a new marital and/or family balance.
