One in two Europeans is now overweight and one in five is obese. The WHO has therefore classified obesity as a global epidemic. There are many reasons for this imbalance. If left untreated, obesity  leads to associated comorbidities such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, lipometabolic disorders, sleep apnoea, cancer and osteoarthritis of the joints. These secondary diseases often mean a severe reduction in quality of life and life expectancy for those affected.

In our practice, we offer comprehensive diagnostics, advice and treatment for overweight people, including bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA, determination of body composition), calorimetry, preoperative and postoperative care for gastric surgery.
