After almost a quarter of a century of experience in ophthalmology, mainly at university eye clinics in Switzerland (Basel and Bern) and also in Denmark, I continue to be fascinated by the specialty of eyes and I am glad that I was able to turn this fascination into my profession. Eye surgery in particular, which I have been practicing since 2003 and in which I have now trained many ophthalmologists, is a passion for me. In addition to surgery, I also find the medical progress in ophthalmology with new diagnostic procedures and treatment methods exciting, which gives you the good feeling that time never stands still.

I was born and grew up in French-speaking Switzerland and studied medicine in Basel. Basel, with its proximity to France and Germany, the many museums, the Rhine and its cosmopolitan atmosphere, has a unique charm and has become the center of my life and that of my two children.

For me, the decisive factor at work is working in a professional team that works at the highest medical level, offers high quality in a modern infrastructure and with optimal work processes, but also has good human qualities. All of this can be found at the Basel Eye and Surgery Center, which is why I also work here.

In addition to continuing my training in ophthalmology, I seek relaxation in nature, reading, listening to podcasts and traveling to discover other countries and cultures with my partner.
